Radio Controlled (RTS)
Motors can be either 240 volt hard wired to the motor point, or battery operated
Motor power options are available to cater for heavier fabrics and longer than usual blind drops (top to bottom)
Motor power is measured in “newton metres” (nm), there is power options all the way from 1.5nm, 2.0nm, 3.0nm, 6nm, up to 10nm, and for outdoor use, even higher power output motors.
Battery motors are towards the low power end at 1.5nm and 2.0nm, these motors have built-in lithium batteries, and can be repeatedly recharged as required, via a “mobile phone type” of charger located near floor level and a 2.4m extension low voltage connection cable to the motor. Recharge time is approx. 5 hours, once per 3 months subject to usage.
The 240 volt motors start at 3.0nm, these can lift approx. 10kg, while the 6nm motor can accommodate approx. 15kg.
Both battery and 240volt RTS motors can connect with “Somfy Conexoon”, the wifi device, allowing multiple Somfy RTS products to be controlled via mobile phone (or the Conexoon unit), rather than remote control units (like a TV remote). Standard remote controls are also available.
Home Automation Controlled Motors (WT)
Motors can be only 240 volt hard wired to the motor point.
This is achieved with a special 4 core cable from the motor to a connector that links to the home automation wiring installed by the home automation technician

Again, motor power is measured in “newton metres” (nm), there is power options from 3.0nm, 6nm, up to 10nm, and for outdoor use, even higher power output motors.
